Have a Crazy Sunny Weekend

Image
What Are you up to this weekend? This weekend I have nothing big planned besides helping a friend in his political campaign, doing some schoolwork that I’ve been avoiding all week, and getting some fun reading time.   Recently, I tried to re-read Michael Pollan’s The Omnivore's Dilemma for the second time, but I could not bring myself to actually finish the book. This is my second time attempting to read the book, but finding myself completely bored and uninterested. So I’ve decided to go with another book that I’ve been meaning to read for while now; Samuel Huntington “The Clash of Civilizations.” Even though the reading is somewhat heavy and some may even consider boring, I have to say I am enjoying, perhaps it’s my boring personality that’s enjoying it. The author provides an interest perspective into Post- Cold War world, and what we could expect in the future in regards to war; strongly recommend reading it. Apart from reading and canvassing, I’ll be seeing an ol...

Sunday Top Five

Image
So I thought it’s about time I bring back my Sunday top five. These are my Sunday top five, which are things that interest me, or I feel like everyone should know about. Moby-Dick; or The Whale by Herman Melville. I am currently reading this book and every time I find myself lost in the adventure, and completely lost in the voyage and the sailors’ pursuit of Moby-Dick. “Human madness is oftentimes a cunning and most feline thing. When you think it fled, it may have but become transfigured into small still subtler form” p. 268 @cyogalab June yoga Challenge. I love summer challenges, and this is the perfect challenge for me. For the next 30 days I will be posting 30 asana from the 30 days challenge calendar offered by cyogalab.  Orphan Black – I’ve recently started watching the show Orphan Black and I completely love it. I am really big on Sci-fi movies and TV shows and this show falls right in my ally. The thing love about the show is that it asks many questions p...

Take In

Image
Hi everyone, hope everybody is having a great start to the week. Lets talk about food, so a lot of people or some  enjoy the idea of "take out," which I enjoy as well every one and then, specially on those days when you don't feel like cooking or doing anything. But take out like eating out cost a lot of money. So to enjoy the pleasure of having a take out, I decided to buy the container that's generally given in restaurants for take out and made my own home take out. As you read the list of the ingredients you'll notice that I've used the same ingredients as the ones for the "caribbean explosion" the reason being because I do "mass cooking" meaning I cook two or three things at the same time, which saves me time and money. Ingredients -2-3 cups of pasta -2 carrot (chopped and diced) -Red, yellow and green bell pepper -Half sween corn -Half tomato -1 Leek (chopped and diced) -1 of each of   cayenne, jalapeño ...

Caribbean Explosion!

Image
Hi everyone, hope everyone is having an amazing week. I am going to start by apologizing for not blogging for while, I've been really busy with work and more work. Regardless, I am back and have something great things to share with you guys. Yesterday I had the great pleasure of trying a new recipe which one of my co-worker called Caribbean Explosion because of the colours and the hot spices. This recipe is really simple, and takes less than hour to do.  This recipe is simple yet amazing, the taste is all in the spices. I think this recipe depicts how easy it is to take something as simple and plain as rice and vegetables and turn into something  great.  P.S. Sorry about the pictures, I took the picture with my Ipod so I doesn't have the best quality.  Ingredients: -1 sweet corn -Yellow, Green, and Red bell pepper  (diced) -2 cups of wild rice and white rice -1 Tomato (Diced) -Carrot -Pepper (cayenne, jalapeño and chili pepper) Diced -3 Green onio...

Vegan first mistake!

Image
So this month my co-workers and I decided to go vegetariam or vegan, since I am a vegetarian my only choose was going vegan. So far I really like it because nothing has really changed about my diet because I don't eat eggs, last time I had eggs was 3-4 years ago, and I tend to drink  soy milk with my coffee, and don't eat a lot of sweet things. So, today I was having my nigh snacks, soy yogurt and green macaron tea. Since I was in the mood for something sweet  I put a little spoon of honey in my yogurt and tea. While enjoying my tea i decided o google whether honey was vegan, and found out that IT IS NOT VEGAN. After reading view articles the underlining issue seems to be the cruelty and  abuse, here's a little sample of the article,  recipes.howstuffworks.com

Pizza, Pizza, Pizza!!!

Image
I must say among all the things out there to eat, pizza will forever and always top my list. Making pizza is extremely simple, and the awesome part of it, is the topping, you can top pizza with just about anything and it will taste amazing! However,  you can top it with anything, but there's nothing like a classic cheese, pepperoni or vegetarian pizza. So I recently got Pinterest, and while filling my pin board I've notice all the beautiful images of pizzas and was just blown away and little jealous because I wanted to eat all it and wished I was the one who cooked them. Regardless, I enjoyed looking at them and got little inspired to make my own home made vegan pizza, which I will conquer in the coming days. English Tea with Lentil salad

Image
Salut tout le monde,  thĂ© weekend is almost here and I am super excited!  Recently one of my co-worker went to London England, and she brought us English tea which I love so much. I had my last cup of English tea yesterday and I am disappointed that I don't have ay left. Regardless, I surely enjoyed my last cup of english tea. I am not sure if this says something about the British intellects, but the box gave direction on how to make a tea, which I think is sunny for two reasons, one because everyone knows how to make a tea, two its ironic because British are associated with tea it seems almost stupid to put the direction. Regardless, I enjoy my British English tea.  With my last English tea I had a delicious lentil salad with Spinach. This recipe is really simple, and its my go to recipe when I am tired or just not in the mood for cooking. Similar to the Barely salad, you can add just about anything. I prefer to keep it simple, but colourful.  Ingredien...
