Weekend adventure: Marathon!

Image
This weekend I ran my fourth marathon (5K) and I’ve finally came close to reaching my ultimately goal of running under 30 minutes. Even though my time was 31:05 and not 20 something as I planned, I am still proud of myself because now I can start training future marathons. I am currently trying to find job and it seems like retail is no longer for me, so I am currently training to get my Smart Serve certification so I can find a job in the service industry of restaurants, which I think would probably be a better fitting for me because I will be dealing with food all day, and you guys know how I love my food; the ultimate job for a foodie is to work in restaurant. I will get you guys updated if and when I get my certificate and find a job. I’ve recently developed this strange liking toward asparagus, which is strange because I’ve tried a year ago and I could not bring myself to eat it. But for the last few weeks it’s has been a stable in my diet; I’ve been adding it in everyth...

Pesto Potato Salad

Image
I am feeling really tried; before I fall asleep I thought I should blog. I just came from a yoga class that was really layback, which is something I generally don't like because I enjoy intense classes. However, after yesterday running that the gym this class was the perfect thing needed to be ready for tomorrow's gym time.           While looking at my refrigerator yesterday I had one of those moment where I said to myself; " there is nothing I can eat" so instead of going out to lunch I decided to cook something. Using pesto I made few days ago.  I recently saw this video on Vimeo and completely fell in love with it, it's the most adorable video ever.  INGREDIENTS   1 tomato (sliced) 1 avocado (sliced) 1 Cumber (sliced) 2 yellow potato (sliced) 1 cup of almonds  1 cup of Pumpkin seeds  Spinach  Kale  Sweet green pea 2 garlic clove...

My chakras are so not aligned

Image
I Love this video; I literally laughed through the whole time while watching this video. It pains me to admit this but, half of the things that they said in the video are things that I find myself saying almost everyday, for example the other day I was talking to a co-worker and I remember saying to him; " I've been so distracted lately, my chakras are so not aligned. I need to do hot yoga to aligned them".  So, I still have the Swiss chard that i bought from the farmers' market, so I decided to make a simple green soup with tahini.  INGREDIENTS  •     A handful of Swiss chard  •    3 large spoon of tahini  •    1 tbsp. Olive oil  •     salt •    1 Pita bread  •    lemon  •   Half glass of water  INSTRUCTIONS  •   Pre-heat oven to 200°C / 400°F, in a baking pan cute the pita bread into pieces. Let it bake f...

Raw food, and some cooked

Image
I eat on my yogamat sometimes  Namaste everyone, Hope everyone is having a great end of the week. IF you’ve read my last post I promised that I was going to post some of the recipes that I’ve been trying lately. However, since all of the recipes are essentially raw and consisted of three to four ingredients I think I’ll just upload the pictures and enumerate the list of the ingredients, and don’t have to explain how to make a raw salad mix with almonds, or whatever.  All you need is essentially 15 items to make different types of raw salad 1.       Avocado 2.       Tomatoes –different colors –eat your colors as Michael Polland said (the more colors you have the likely you are getting different antioxidant, flavors among other things) 3.        Lettuces 4.       Cucumber 5.       Broccoli ...
