Sunday's Top Five: Mother's Day Ideas

Image
I generally tend to hate special days like mother's day or father's day because I think we shouldn't have to wait for a specific day to tell us to treat our mother's like a queen because I think it should be something that we should strive for everyday. Regardless, I am willing to accept this day, so Happy Mother's Day!!! Mother’s day is the day to thank your mother for everything, and regardless of your relationship it is important to put all differences aside, and thank her because if it was not for her you would not be here today. So, in the spirit of Mother’s day I came up with five gift ideas. 1. Special diner : If you are foodie like I am treat your mother with something special like a special home made dinner, or a family dinner. 2. Quality Time: if you don’t get a lot of time to spend some quality time with your mother, I would recommend spending some time your mother. Go for brunch, lunch, tea, shopping or tea. 3....

My Top five of the Week

Image
So, today was the daylight saving, and I am not sure how I feel about it so far, I managed to go to bed at 2 am and wake up at 8, then slept for another hour and woke up at 9. Having to wake up to birds chirping is great!!  Lately I've been feeling really tired, exhausted, and fatigue which I thought I was me over working myself, but then i realized its my lack of eating, especially because I am vegetarian who is iron deficient and I barely eat any protection or dairy products such as egg or even drink milk. So with this daytime saving hopefully I can gain some of that energy, and gain my health back. With that said, as of today I launching top five things which I either discovered during the week or just enjoyed. 1 . Going Natural : I have decided to do the big chop which is a "movement"mainly in the black women community of going natural, no weave, braids, wigs(which I cannot and will never wear) and processed chemicals in your hair, just embracing your naturally beau...

Carrot Soup and Pesto

Image
Happy new year, and I hope all of your wishes and dreams do come true this year. So,  I had little to no time to blog at all during the first semester, but I truly hope this semester will be different. If you are a vegan, or vegetarian you probably know about the amazing food magazine call Vegetarian Magazine. This magazine has great recipes, for vegan, vegetarian, or even meat eaters. So, this week I had the chance of trying one of their recipes, however like always I like to make it my own. This is my firs time making carrot soup, and i have to say it turned out pretty good, but the only downside i putt way too much garlic, and I cannot handle the taste of garlic that seems to linger. Also, the difference between the my recipe and Vegetarian times, I used almond instead of almond for the pesto. Also, the pesto is my own home made recipe. Furthermore, in my recipe as always I cannot stand any food that lack seasoning and spices, so I ensured that I used favourable spices.  ...

I think we all love pasta, and pasta is one of those ingredients that you can make with anything, pasta with sauce, vegetables, meat, fish or whatever you desire. Pizza, Pizza, Pizza!!!

Image
I must say among all the things out there to eat, pizza will forever and always top my list. Making pizza is extremely simple, and the awesome part of it, is the topping, you can top pizza with just about anything and it will taste amazing! However,  you can top it with anything, but there's nothing like a classic cheese, pepperoni or vegetarian pizza. So I recently got Pinterest, and while filling my pin board I've notice all the beautiful images of pizzas and was just blown away and little jealous because I wanted to eat all it and wished I was the one who cooked them. Regardless, I enjoyed looking at them and got little inspired to make my own home made vegan pizza, which I will conquer in the coming days. Classic French Movies and Red Wine

Image
The Dreamers: Michael Pitt, Evea Green, and Louis Garrel Bonjour! Lately I've been embracing my love for classic movies, but above all classic French movies. Despite my little understanding of French I can read English, so subtitles are always helpful. I recently saw the movie "The Dreamers" which was interesting, all I can remember is nudity, cute French guy, WINE!!! classic movies and incest. Despite the weird incestuous relationship between Theo and Isabelle, the movie was pretty good. After watching the movie, I decided to embrace my addiction to classic movies and WINE! Yesterday I saw "Meet me in St. Louis" a classic movie which I saw three times already,  last "Une Femme Est Une Femme" with Anna Karine an amazing French actress. I haven't seen it yet, but will soon Une femme est une femme Louis Garrel as Theo

Pea and Lentil soup

Image
S alut tout le monde,  Another week and weekend as come and gone. Hope you've all had an incroyable weekend, to those who's weekend is about to start, have fun and be adventurous. Over the weekend I didn't have the chance of doing a lot of things, but I manage to fit some time for wine, I had the chance of going to one of my favourite restaurant, Blue Cactus the one place that servers the best nacho in Ottawa. I remember ordering small plate, but when the plate arrived I thought it was large. Also I had the chance of having two glass of pinot noir red wine.  Despite the less adventurous week, I manage to cook something really good that's vegan, vegetarian and eat eaters friendly. Pea and lentil soup, this was suppose to be a soup but it turned into dip, I could've added more vegetable broth, but I decided to go with the dip feeling, and it still taste and looks incroyable . Weekend adventure-Pinot Noir Ingredients :  1-2 cups green lentil (washed and res...

Hi everyone, hope you've all had a great week, and plan great adventures for the weekend. Yesterday I had the great pleasure of making one of my favourite recipe, despite the long process it was completely worth it, stuffed vegan shells. This recipe proves to everyone that vegans can eat anything that non-vegans can eat. I've never cooked pasta shells before and I must say, I can't wait to experiment more with it.
