Vegan BLT with Avocado Spread

Image
The question I always get when people find out that I am a vegetarian and “Part –time vegan” is where do you get your protein then don’t you miss bacon. The second question is funny because I’ve NEVER had bacon in my life before so the idea of me missing something I’ve never tried before is just downright stupid. The misconception people have regarding non-meat eaters is that we deprive of ourselves of everything particularly the delicious food specifically those consists of meat e.g., BLT. But vegetarian/vegan can have BLT that’s even better than the one with meat; which brings me to this week’s recipe Vegan BLT. INGREDIENTS 1 ripe avocado 3 Cremini Mushroom 1 extra firm tofu 1 Bell Pepper Kale (steamed) Olive Oil Almonds 2 ½ tbsp. turmeric 2 ½   tbsp. Sunday top four: Favourite Summer drinks

Image
For my sunday top five i've decided to blog about my favourite summer cold drink. These are simple and cheap drinks that will save not only the trip to Starbucks, but also the $7 that you would have been forced to spend at Starbucks for a frappuccino 1. Classic Ice Coffee Like a lot of people I love my coffee, but during the hot season the last thing I want is to have a cold drink when it feels likes the Saharan desert. Instead of having a morning hot coffee I go for ice-cold coffee. You’ll need ice, coffee (brewed), soy or almond milk, vanilla extract (1tbsp.) and maple syrup (1 tbsp.) Brew your coffee as you normally do. Pour coffee into the glass; add vanilla extract, soymilk and ice. Add maple syrup and stir well. 2. Grapefruit/lime and ginger  Like a lot of people I love my OJ, which makes this drink my favorite drink. You will one lime, one grapefruit, ginger root, and honey. Using a blender your fruits (grapefruit, lime, and ginger root). Let it chilled ove

Vegan Gluten Free Pancakes

Image
I realize today that I haven’t had pancake in YEARS! (5-6 years)! So for lunch I thought why not have pancakes! To be honest the only reason I don’t do a lot of baking it’s because I suck at baking. I love cooking but not baking. I know making pancakes is not really baking, but in my book it is baking. I have to say though that this pancake turned out way better than I expected it to be, and it was delicious. Also,  it's  gluten free, wheat free and milk free, which makes a great breakfast for the weekend  INGREDIENTS •      1 Cups flour (El Peto Product) •     2 tbsp. baking powder •     1 tbsp. vanilla extract •     1tbsp. poppy seeds •     1 tbsp. vegetable oil •     1 tbsp. salt •     2 cup of almond milk •     Maple Syrup INSTRUCTIONS In a mixing bowl combine all dry ingredients (Flour, baking powder, poppy seeds, vanilla extract, oil)  Add almond milk to your mixture. Mix until smooth Set stove to medium heat to get golden brown lo

Sunday Top Five

So I thought it’s about time I bring back my Sunday top five. These are my Sunday top five, which are things that interest me, or I feel like everyone should know about. Moby-Dick; or The Whale by Herman Melville. I am currently reading this book and every time I find myself lost in the adventure, and completely lost in the voyage and the sailors’ pursuit of Moby-Dick. “Human madness is oftentimes a cunning and most feline thing. When you think it fled, it may have but become transfigured into small still subtler form” p. 268 @cyogalab June yoga Challenge. I love summer challenges, and this is the perfect challenge for me. For the next 30 days I will be posting 30 asana from the 30 days challenge calendar offered by cyogalab.  Orphan Black – I’ve recently started watching the show Orphan Black and I completely love it. I am really big on Sci-fi movies and TV shows and this show falls right in my ally. The thing love about the show is that it asks many questions parti
